The IBM Flex System™ p24L, p260, and p460 compute nodes are servers based on IBM® POWER® architecture technology. These compute nodes run in IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis units and use advanced processing technology to provide a high-density, high-performance compute node environment. The p260 and p460 support IBM AIX, IBM i, and Linux operating environments and are designed to run a variety of workloads. The p24L is designed to run Linux. The p24L and p260 are half-width compute nodes with two processors, while the p460 is a full-width compute node with four processors.
Introduction
The IBM Flex System™ p260 and p460 compute nodes are servers based on IBM® POWER® architecture technology. These compute nodes run in IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis units and use advanced processing technology to provide a high-density, high-performance compute node environment. These nodes support IBM AIX, IBM i, or Linux operating environments and are designed to run a variety of workloads. The p260 and p24L are standard compute nodes with two POWER7 or POWER7+ processors, while the p460 is a double-wide compute node with four POWER7 or POWER7+ processors.
Availability and Serviceability
The p24L, p260, and p460 offer many features to simplify serviceability and increase system uptime:
ECC and chipkill provide error detection and recovery when uncorrectable memory failures occur.
Tool-free cover removal allows easy upgrade and repair of components such as drives, memory, and adapter cards.
The optical path diagnostics panel and individual optical path LEDs allow technicians to quickly locate failed (or failing) components. This simplifies repairs, speeds problem resolution, and helps improve system availability.
Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) increases uptime by detecting when system components (e.g., processors, memory, and hard drives) are operating beyond standard thresholds and generates proactive alerts before failures are likely.
Available solid-state drives (Твердотельные накопители) offer better reliability than traditional mechanical hard disk drives (HDDs) for greater uptime.
The built-in integrated Flexible Service Processor (FSP) continuously monitors system parameters, triggers alerts, and performs recovery actions when failures occur to minimize downtime.
The front panel has a USB port for upgrades and local service tasks.
Three-year customer replaceable parts and onsite limited warranty, Следующий рабочий день 9×5. Optional service upgrades available.
Manageability and security
Powerful systems management capabilities simplify management of the p260 and p460:
Includes an FSP to monitor server availability and provide diagnostics.
Integrates with IBM Flex System™ Manager for proactive systems management. It provides comprehensive systems management for the entire IBM Flex System platform, helping to increase uptime, reduce costs and improve productivity through advanced server management capabilities.
